Doyle Brunson Arrest Rumour - False

The internet stikes again on the spurious and unfounded rumour mongering front - This time generating traffic for forum sites NWP & others with rumours that Doyle Brunson had been arrested. Proving to be hot air hours later it's yet another great lesson in internet marketing or a good example of why citizen journalism & blogging is unlikely to provide us with authoritive or factual information on the world around us.

Not wishing to further add further to what must have been a storm of traffic & some nice backlinks I will instead point you to another poker webmaster who made some sense of the whole thing and shot the right holes in the rumours - Thank God there are some people who actually question what they read

4kingpoker Losses

Not much to report this week, I haven't played much but this seems to have created a new problem -

Now I'm trying to get 2 hours worth of play into an hour sat at the table - Which unsuprisingly leads to me having a personal % to the flop ratio which must be in the high 90% range -

Clearly stupid, clearly unsustainable, clearly not a winning strategy.

I've always maintained that playing tight rock & only the top few hands won't lead to riches as everyone can see you waiting for AA a mile off but I've taken loose aggressive to new levels ...

You need to create uncertainty in your oppositions minds
Not get them thinking "IS THIS GUY EVER GOING TO FOLD ?"

Next week - Playing an hours worth of poker in an hour (no more no less).

Tony G Poker closes to US players

Tony G Poker has announced it is closed to US poker players.

This is a great shame and something Tony G has said he is personally gutted about. It should be noted that they're making every effort to make sure their exiting US players are able to transfer funds to other US friendly sites - Tony G might be mean on the table but he's proving to be a top man away from the table. With such a big personality (infamous in all the right ways) I think his site deserves to survive & thrive from non US players supporting the site.

Sign-up using 4kingpoker's links for a 200% Tony G Poker Bonus up to $400 - Tony G Poker is a small site on the relatively new Skill Games Network but the software is decent, has some great overlays in the tournaments & some nice promotions -

Knock out Tony G and get a bounty of $100 (Screen name "Loudmouth" & he plays as alot at all limits), $3000 Bad Beat Jackpot & Weekly $2000 Freeroll.

I thought slamdunk basketball was a made up sport but no apparently it's really a sport, like extreme ironing & ice golf.

This plucky Japanese chap seems to have a bit more hardcore version of what seems to be lazy man's short ass version of baseketball with what must be the world record longest slam dunk.

Best Bluffs of the WSOP

A collection of the best bluffs from the 2003 World Series of Poker. Some useful tips and advice from the poker pro's on how to bluff in poker and how not to.

4kingpoker Losses

After previous blow ups at PokerStars & Full Tilt Poker my deposit at Poker.com was doing really well. Having turned $300 within a week into $1800. No suprise that the wheels have come off in a couple of harrowing sessions and I'm now down to around half ($900) which is pretty poor. Hopefully leaving it for a day or two I can get back into the right frame of mind to play a decent game ... I've knew I was going to play badly but sat down all the same which is just lame ... If your hearts not in it then better to leave it.

On a more positive note we had our first home poker game for a while on Friday night. It was a bit of a crazy night - Fatboy played well and had the most Full Houses I think I've ever seen, but he played them well and made the most of the good cards - I didnt put him on most of them and he managed to slow play the right ones and bet at the right ones. I palmed off alot of chips early doors wasting alot of bets to see the flop only to get re-raised of bet off what were for the most part terrible draws anyway.

Thankfully I got my act together half way through and managed to fold a bit more and then hit some cards finishing up on the night - which covers the damage from the last home game.

This chip clip from Lazydork.com - hell this much effort and I don't think you can call him lazy - nice one & very cleverly done.
