Day 254 ... Titan & Royal Vegas...

Titan Poker ... $51.07

$5+0.75 SnG full ... 10th ... - $ 5.75
$5+0.75 SnG full ... 5th ... - $ 5.75
$5+0.75 SnG full ... 4th ... - $ 5.75

Titan Poker ... $ 51.07 ... -$17.25 ... total $33.82 (-$82.18)

Rubbish session at Titan in the SnG's so decided to head over to Royal Vegas and try my luck with the $15 1st place money from the 4kingpoker Tour tournie.

Royal Vegas Poker ... $15.85

$5+0.50 SnG full ... 3rd ... + $4.50
$5+0.50 SnG full ... 5th ... - $5.50
$5+0.50 SnG full ... 8th ... - $5.50

$9.35 cash NL 0.20 ... $3.62 ... -$5.73

Royal Vegas Poker ... $ 15.85 ... -$12.23 ... total $3.62 (+$3.62)

We'll I guess that I'm still technically up $3 as I didn't deposit and played their free $10 down to 85 cents and the $15 was a freeroll, even so I feel like I should have done alot better. Royal Vegas is just so loose - in the cash games I just added to that statistic and in the SnG's I failed to capitalise on it and show some patience.

Bad Beat of the Day ... At Titan I got cheated out of 3rd place when I went in with AQ suited and got beaten by A7 unbelievably getting 659 on the flop and then 10 8 to make them a very backdoor straight.

Then at Royal Vegas I came an unimpressive 8th after calling some manaic who had been in every pot - I showed AJ he showed A4 and yep he hit a four on the river.

Day 253 ... Titan up and downer ...

Good start, bad middle and good end but not much to show for it.

Titan Poker ... $44.37

$5+0.75 SnG full ... 1st ... + $ 19.75

$5+0.75 SnG full ... 6th ... - $ 5.75
$5+0.75 SnG full ... 5th ... - $ 5.75
$5+0.75 SnG full ... 6th ... - $ 5.75
$5+0.75 SnG full ... 6th ... - $ 5.75

$5+0.75 SnG full ... 1st ... + $ 4.25

$5+0.75 SnG full ... 6th ... - $ 5.75
$5+0.75 SnG full ... 8th ... - $ 5.75

$5+0.75 SnG full ... 1st ... + $ 19.75

$ 5 cash NL 0.10 ... $ 2.95 ... - $ 2.05

Titan Poker ... $ 44.37 ... +$ 6.70 ... total $51.07 (- $64.93)

Two 1st's and alot of faffing around coming 6th which really defeated the profits on the 1st places - bugger.

Bad Beat of the Day ... Heads-up I was big chip leader and would have won eventually but they hit 2 pair on the flop and I managed to get runner runner to make a straight - nice when the boots on the other foot.

Day 252 ... At last a win at Titan ...

Gone back to try out Titan again and win the first game - nice. Rubbish on cash games though, no change there then.

Titan Poker ... $27.32

$5+0.75 SnG full ... 1st ... + $ 19.75

$ 5 cash NL 0.10 ... $ 00.00 ... - $ 5.00
$10 cash NL 0.10 ... $ 8.30 ... - $ 1.70

Poker Heaven ... $ 27.32 ... +$ 17.05 ... total $44.37 (- $71.63)

Well a healthy increase but a long way off getting back to square - still got to be patient.

Bad Beat of the Day ... No Bad beats today - hurrah

Poker Tip of the Day ... You can't play differently just because you get bad beats, you've got to play your strong cards hard everytime. If they get lucky you have to just hope your in the hand the next time they play badly, after all they won't be lucky all the time ... More tips

Learning the winning formula to suceed at poker is like trying to find the Holy Grail. Everyone is promising it but in fairness most are providing it.

But here's the thing ... A hell of a lot of players ain't listening

If like me you have laid awake one night after a failed evening trying to beat flophat2 and ibluff56 wondering where your money went. You've probably run out the next day to get a couple of these "Instant ways to win" or "Super secret formula to Poker Millions" books. Now don't get me wrong they really helped my game but if you read enough of them you realize they're all basically the same ... Read More

Day 251 ... Looking forward to PokerHeaven Tournie ...

I'm really looking forward to the Poker Heaven tournie on Sunday as part of the 4kingpoker Tour, hope it provides an opportunity to prove that I can do ok even without the massive amount of luck I got at Royal Vegas - but we'll see.

Poker Heaven ... $22.69

$3+0.30 SnG full ... 4th ... - $ 3.30
$3+0.30 SnG full ... 10th ... - $ 3.30

$5+0.50 SnG full ... 4th ... - $ 3.30

$8.39 cash NL 0.10 ... $ 15.99 ... + $ 7.60
$8.00 cash NL 0.10 ... $ 1.70 ... - $ 6.30

$3+0.30 SnG full ... 1st ... + $11.70
$3+0.30 SnG full ... 4th ... - $ 3.30

Poker Heaven ... $ 22.69 ... -$ 4.60 ... total $18.09 (-$31.91)

I'm really scrapping around at the moment, a couple of early bad beats didn't help but getting a 1st just about stemmed the flow.

Bad Beat of the Day ... Today I got my pocket KK's crushed twice, both times by the same hand Ace 9 first suited then offsuit.

First off I went all-in with KK and got called by A9 suited putting me a 67.1% favourite before the flop - on the flop everything went to pot as they hit and ace and a nine.

Second game I went out 10th on the first hand - I made a reasonable 3x pot raise pre-flop with KK and got one caller. Flop came down 10d, 2d, - so I wanted to get him all-in as I figured him for Akicker or high cards or a middle pair but not AA - OK if he had 10 10 then I was beat fair and square but I was reckoning on a strong hand but weaker than mine. The last thing I wanted to do was give him a free cards if he had 4 to the flush. So I raised just short of his all-in and he come over the top for all his money and I call. Nice I'm thinking when he turns over Ad 9o - He has only got an ace high and drawing with 3 diamonds to the flush. On the flop this makes me an very strong 82.15% favourite. His only outs an ace or hitting runner runner diamonds. Yep he then hits two diamonds on the bounce. I still cannot believe anyone would call a big preflop raise with A9 off on the first hand and even less so see the flop and think it's improved them. Even I wasn't playing such daft hands in the tournie at Royal Vegas.

Day 250 ... 200 chips to winner ...

The 4kingpoker Tour went to Royal Vegas Poker on Saturday and it was without doubt the most surreal experience I've had at a poker table. Starting with 61 entries and it was loose and crazy all the way. Within the first 45mins we had be cut down to 25. After a reasonable start I was in serious trouble and playing really tight. In fact I narrowly scraped in to make the final table with 200 chips. And this was where the fun (I use the term loosely) seems to begin. I'd continued to play tight but ultimately was going to have to make a stand at some point. All I can say was everytime I went into a pot it was for all my money ... and no matter what I came up smelling of roses.

If I went in ahead ... I won.
If I went in on a coin flip ... I won.
If I went in a dog ... I still won.

By the end of it I finished 1st sitting with 60,000 in chips and with a hell of alot of pissed players scratching their heads and reaching for the odds calculators (I recommend badbeatornot.com of course). I can only say I've never seen so much luck and I take my hat off to all the players at the final table ... thanks for putting up with me ... but it just goes to show with a chip, a chair and some lucky breaks you can win.

Poker Heaven ... $28.19

$10 cash NL 0.10 ... $ 00.00 ... -$10.00

$3+0.30 SnG full ... 4th ... - $ 3.30
$3+0.30 SnG full ... 4th ... - $ 3.30
$3+0.30 SnG full ... 3rd ... + $ 2.70
$3+0.30 SnG full ... 3rd ... + $ 2.70
$3+0.30 SnG full ... 2nd ... + $ 5.70

Poker Heaven ... $ 28.19 ... -$ 5.50 ... total $22.65 (-$27.35)

Not a great day but at least the results got better. Still frustrated as I really like Poker Heaven, it plays well and the players don't but it just doesn't seem to be coming together for me yet. Hope I can keep what little I have left going and start hitting some consistent wins.

Bad Beat of the Day ... I can only say that I served my annual quota of bad beats out in the tournie at Royal Vegas on Saturday - Totally unreal and too many to list here ... and I don't want to rub salt into the wounds.
