Day 289 ... Marathon Poker session ...

• Fete Watch

Random pick of a fete coming up no-where near you ...
1940s Southern at War Weekend
Bluebell Steam Railway, East Sussex 13th - 14th May

Not strictly a fete but none the less a typically English weekend event - dressing up and going back in time - with the addition of steam trains. I have to admit there is still apart of me that likes steam trains and train sets, but I have no desire sit on a platform noting down numbers of passing trains.

I'm always a bit nervous around these re-enacter types ever since I did a job taking pictures of a couple who were into the Sealed Knot English Civil War thing and planned to get married in full costume and in character - then again I've also met a guy who had spent £10,000 making his British Leyland Princess into a replica of the Star Ship Enterprise Bridge so I guess it takes all sorts.

• 4kingpoker Losses Update

Ended up playing all through the night and I'd also started Friday with an early morning session just to check out if the cash games were still busy at 6am GMT.

I also decided to have a go at Poker.com with the $11 I'd built up from a couple of tournie wins - but it didn't prove very profitable so thats another emptied poker account to add to the list.

HoldemPoker ... $ 138.03

$25 cash 0.25 ... $ 61.75 ... + $36.75
$25 cash 0.25 ... $ 29.70 ... + $ 4.70
$25 cash 0.25 ... $ 19.75 ... - $ 5.25
$29.70 cash 0.25 ... $ 32.50 ... + $ 2.80
$10 cash 0.10 ... $ 12.70 ... + $ 2.70

$5+0.50 SnG full ... 7th ... - $5.50
$5+0.50 SnG full ... 7th ... - $5.50
$5+0.50 SnG full ... 5th ... - $5.50

$10 cash 0.10 ... $4.20 ... - $5.80

$5+0.50 SnG full ... 8th ... - $5.50

$10 cash 0.10 ... $ 20.20 ... + $ 10.20

HoldemPoker ... $ 138.03 ... + $ 24.85... total $ 162.88 ( + $118.88)

Alot of fannying around to end up where I was first thing this morning really. The tournies in the night were a bit tricky as I ended up in the final three a couple of times at HoldemPoker & Poker Heaven at the same time - so was a bit of juggling which I'm not great at.

PokerHeaven ... $10.00

$10 cash 0.10 ... $00.00 ... - $10.00

$25 bonus cleared

$10+1 SnG full ... 1st ... + $39.00

$30+3 SnG full ... 3rd ... + $27.00

$20+2 SnG full ... 7th ... - $22.00

Poker Heaven ... $10 ... + $59.00 ... total $ 69.00 (+ $19.00)

Totally random night really I'd managed to do nothing much with the $10 won in last weekends tournie - but had managed to generate enough rake to clear the first $25 of the bonus - which I decided wassome sort of omen to go on an all or mothing SnG stretch - which actually paid off. The second game which I came 3rd in was a bit hellish
as I also made the final three on a table in HoldemPoker at the same time so it was rather difficult to play very tactically hence 3rd place when really I shoulh have held off going all-in with 55 against the completely gobby chip leader who seemed to turn on me as I had been playing very tight. Yes I called his all-in bluff with 10 Q over cards but my small pocket pair didn't stand up - with hindsight I should have just bided my time as the other guy was just as short staked and would have been blinded away before but at least I got a place but it would have meant another $30 profit. By this time it was around 4.30am and I was flagging - I'd pulled my neck (annoyingly badly) from sitting at computers all yesterday and it and a lack of sleep was beginning to take its toll. As the sun was rising and the local wildlife awaking I struggled to stay sharp in the the $20 SnG and although I got 3rd over at HoldemPoker I made a bold move on the best hand and got beaten on the river to finish 7th. Time for 45mins sleep before tomorrow.
